Mars Pathfinder landed on Mars in 1997. The view to
the west is shown above, with portions of the spacecraft visible in the
foreground. Pathfinder landed in an outflow channel in the Ares Vallis and the rocks in this image were probably
transported by massive floods. A pair of hills known as Twin Peaks, can be seen on the horizon.. |
